This Literature Review was completed as part of my coursework for ETT 510.
This artifact is a literature review that provides an overview of current uses of technology teams and effective integration of technology to create 21st century learning environments in today’s school systems. As part of the course, we were asked to work cooperatively in a group to conduct research into an area of our choosing. My group decided to examine the use of technology teams to support technology integration and the creation of 21sth century learning environments. Both scholarly print and online journals were searched for this literature review. As a learner who is interested in integrating technology in the most effective manner possible, this area of study was especially intriguing and relevant.
Our review examined the following areas:
Rationale:
This paper is an example of my abilities to investigate a topic, review the literature, and communicate in writing a synthesis of my findings. As a professional who is beginning to design and lead professional development opportunities, this research was very enlightening. I see the importance to follow up opportunities. Far too often are professional development days a “one off” with little to no opportunity to return to the learning and check for understanding. As I design PD opportunities for now and the future, I will keep in mind what I learned through this experience and I will make sure that technology coaching is available well after the initial PD. By providing teachers with ongoing learning opportunities, I believe my colleagues will have the greatest ability to affect student learning in their classrooms. In this way I believe this artifact demonstrates how my learners will be positively affected by my learning. I will understand how to form a question and then seek the best possible answers to that question, supported by scholarly research. I can then turn that knowledge into meaningful learning opportunities for my teachers, who in turn will be the best instructors they can be for our students.
